Nashville through the looking glass

thoughts, photos...whatever.

Pretty Things…

I happen to adore these shoes. Sadly I cannot wear them anymore. Thanks to the extra 20lbs of “mom” still hanging around in mysterious places. So, I snapped some pictures to remind me of their lovely-ness.

MY FAVORITE LITTLE GUY

It has been so beautiful this week, so Abraham and I took advantage of a  little outdoor play at sunset the other night.  Love this child.

Dog day afternoon

The most beautiful day of the year thus far… at least in my opinion. I don’t think Pete or Bella would argue that!

AN ERA OF UNBATHED HIPSTERS. Part 1

Now this is something I just don’t get. Maybe I am getting old, I don’t know. I am so perplexed by this new wave of people roaming around who feel like it’s “cool” to look like you have not showered in days, or perhaps weeks. I am all for having artistic license when it comes to your look. Be creative and cool, be covered in tattoos, but don’t be mangy…it’s gross.
I think it gets on my nerves the most in places where these people are employed. Yes, you are smart and educated- you deserve to have a job. BUT seriously? Clean under your fingernails and run some hot water over yourself before subjecting everyone else to it.

I think this week I shall seek these peeps out and snap some photos… stay tuned.

From TN with love.

So, last weekend I took it upon myself to go to Michael’s and go crazy buying Valentine’s Day art supplies for Abe. I thought this year, since he loves to draw and paint we could send the grandparents’ home made cards.  Today was a snow day, and considering the G-parents live in FL and WA- this really was the final day to knock these puppies out and get them into the mail.  I started my little budding artist off with a nice small brownie, courtesy if my late afternoon baking spree yesterday. Regretfully… now almost 4 hours later instead of napping, he is in his crib shouting the ABC’s at top of his lungs!  (oops) Anywhoo- here’s how it went down. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Clogged pores, Clogged duct, Clogged sink!

These three things I can say I have experienced in my lifetime.

Clogged pores- Puberty Hello! and still as an adult….BOO!
Clogged duct- I  was a nursing mother, need I say more?

Now on to the clogged sink, or so I think…
Slow drain, if it is draining at all… Mike is outta town so I call the plumber.

Plumber comes and I receive the “good” news. The sink is not stopped up. So I say, what’s the “bad” news because you are hear to rape me of whatever funds I have available, so hit me! (not literally, of course).  The sink has been installed incorrectly. This can be fixed in a short time, no biggie.

Then I hear a groan from the bathroom. At least when I enter his ass crack is not in my face, so that’s a plus. He tells me that because the sink was installed incorrectly, 7 years ago… the drain underneath is completely broken. CRAP! He is now out buying a new drain….

They say in Nashville to call the Happy Face Truck…. yeah, whatever…

TBC….

Grey … or is it Gray?

The color between black and white….

A dismal, dull, lack of color. In other words winter, at least as of late. My favorite type of day is a beautifully crisp winter morning with blue skies. For some reason though this winter has been mostly the opposite. Dark, cold and grey.

Just when you think your surroundings are going to welcome spring, you get a f**k you- slap in the face by way of a snow storm… and apparently we have more on the way.

I guess I don’t have too much to complain about- considering the 2 million feet of snow covering most of the Midwest and Northeast, but alas here I am… complaining.

I need a vacation home in Mexico. “Nuf said.
